MOVE IT, the world’s largest dance event, celebrated its 20th anniversary on March 7 to 9, 2025, at ExCeL London.

As Media Partner, Dance Informa was there to capture the electric buzz and stunning performances, with Editor-in-Chief Deborah Searle even being seen sneaking in to join a masterclass or two.

Over three days, attendees from all over the UK immersed themselves in a jam-packed, if not slightly overwhelming, programme featuring over 270 masterclasses in a diverse range of styles and levels, live performances on three different stages, international competitions, and appearances by renowned dance personalities like Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity, West End stars Thao Nguyen and Layton Williams, and even Abby Lee Miller of Dance Moms fame.

Disney Live Entertainment and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line came over from Florida, USA and held daily masterclasses and auditions for international contracts. These were well attended by eager, talented young dancers keen to secure a coveted contract who gave their best with the tricky, high energy choreography.

Across the event, attendees were treated to hard-hitting, passionate performances by students from leading UK dance colleges and schools, offering a glimpse into the immense talent being developed in these institutions. Many colleges performed multiple times across the several stage, with every performance full of commitment and creativity.

International institutions were even seen performing and taking advantage of all MOVE IT has to offer, such as Australia’s renowned Dynamite Studios who brought a group of students over to London for the occasion.

With the UK Hip Hop Dance Championships and Starpower International competition both held at MOVE IT, troupes, teams and soloists had a chance to compete and shine in front of a huge audience and esteemed international judges.

Top that off with a huge AcroPAD, plus a roller rink sponsored by Starlight Express, all alongside a bustling shopping village of dance apparel, studios, resources, studio supplies and more – and you have the mammoth celebration that was MOVE IT 2025! The lines were unwavering, the classes were sold-out, the playlist was energetic and loud. It felt as though every attendee left everything on the dance floor at this high octane event. Congratulations to MOVE IT on another stellar event and on two decades dedicated to bringing the dance industry together.
