The U.Dance Regional platforms are back, offering young people across the Midlands the chance to perform live on stage. U.Dance is a national programme of dance events offering high-quality opportunities to young people, led by One Dance UK.
For U.Dance in the Midlands, platform events will be held in Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Northampton and Nottingham, happening between March and April 2024.
Soloists or youth dance groups are encouraged to apply, including school and college groups, youth dance companies, and private dance schools. To take part, groups must have no more than 30 dancers, create a dance piece made for stage, ensure all dancers are based in the Midlands, and ensure dancers are aged 11-19, and up to 25 for dancers with disabilities.
All genres of dance are welcome. In the past, U.Dance has had performances in jazz, theatre styles, ballet, South Asian dance styles, contemporary dance, dance of the African Diaspora, a mix of street dance styles and folk dances. No genre is excluded.
The application deadline for U.Dance Regional 2024 is Friday 2 February 2024.
