Moments with Marianela, a photographic celebration of ballet superstar Marianela Nuñez, published in association with The Royal Ballet, is now available for pre-order.

The book is an intimate photo-portrait of one of ballet’s biggest superstars at the peak of her career. It features atmospheric photographs captured over the past five years by Maria-Helena Buckley that focus on rehearsals and backstage moments.

In Moments with Marianela, Buckley and the Argentine-born Principal dancer of The Royal Ballet reveal their thoughts, emotions and insights about ballet in conversation with Rachel Hollings.

Nuñez was born in Buenos Aires, and trained at the Teatro Colón Ballet School and London’s Royal Ballet School before joining The Royal Ballet in 1998. She was promoted to Principal in 2002, and has enjoyed a distinguished career. Her numerous accolades include four Critics’ Circle National Dance Award for Best Female Dancer and an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance.

Buckley is an award-winning photographer based in Paris. Born in Palma de Mallorca, she danced as a Soloist with Staatsballett Berlin for 20 years before training as a photographer. She specialises in theatre and dance photography.
