The vibrancy, heat and passion of Spain will ignite London this summer as the 21st annual Flamenco Festival runs from Tuesday 16 to Monday 29 June 2026. Across venues including Sadler’s Wells Theatre, the Lilian Baylis Studio in Islington, and Sadler’s Wells East in Stratford, the festival will present 10 productions – five UK premieres – featuring world-renowned flamenco dancers, choreographers and musicians.
Highlights include Creaviva, Rafaela Carrasco’s reimagining of the ancient Greek muses; Night of the Guitar, a tribute to pioneering guitarist Sabicas; and Tierra Bendita from Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, featuring 15 dancers from flamenco’s birthplace. The centrepiece Gala Flamenca returns with Eva Yerbabuena, winner of the 2025 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance.
A special performance at the National Gallery on Monday 15 June will feature viola player Fahmi Alqhai and Patricia Guerrero, artistic director of Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, coinciding with the gallery’s Zurbarán exhibition.
Now in its 21st year, Flamenco Festival is dedicated to promoting Spanish culture worldwide. Under the direction of Miguel Marín, it has become a leading global platform for flamenco, presenting established artists alongside emerging talent.
On his excitement to be sharing this year’s programme, Festival Director Miguel Marín said:
“Flamenco is a living language – one that carries memory, identity, and transformation within it. This year’s programme invites audiences to experience that living pulse: a journey where tradition and creation meet, where the past resonates in the present, and where new voices continue to shape its future. In London, flamenco finds a stage where it can continue to grow, to take risks, and to connect deeply with the world of today.”
The festival opens on Tuesday 16 June with UnYdos from Compañía de Danza Jesús Carmona, an intimate performance showcasing flamenco in its purest and most expansive form.
On Thursday 18 June, the UK premiere of Creaviva brings the nine Greek muses to life through dance, live music and poetry, including texts by Álvaro Tato.
Gala Flamenca takes place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, uniting four internationally recognised dancers.
On Wednesday 24 June, Rocío Molina returns with the UK premiere of Calentamiento, a raw exploration of the body in preparation.
Night of the Guitar arrives on Thursday 25 June, featuring Gerardo Núñez, Antonio Rey and Álvaro Martinete, with dancer Olga Pericet paying tribute to Sabicas and his collaborator Carmen Amaya.
The Islington programme concludes with Tierra Bendita, directed by Patricia Guerrero, a large-scale celebration of a new generation of flamenco artists.
At the Lilian Baylis Studio on Saturday 20 June, two performances highlight flamenco’s musical power: En Tierra de Hombres by Esther Merino, and a later performance from El Perrete featuring songs from his album Luz de Guía.
At Sadler’s Wells East, the UK premiere of MAGNIFICAT on Sunday 28 June sees María Moreno interpret the biblical story of The Visitation through dance, music and voice.
The festival closes on Monday 29 June with Rayuela, marking the 25th anniversary of Marco Flores. Inspired by the traditional children’s game and Julio Cortázar’s novel, the work blends contemporary dance, tap and flamenco in a reflection on artistic freedom and identity.
