Following its triumphant 2022 premiere, Carlos Acosta’s vibrant, sun-drenched production is back by popular demand. This joyful, family-friendly spectacle bursts with colour, Spanish flair and breathtaking choreography.

The original run was captured on film for cinema release and BBC broadcast, enchanting over 95,000 viewers. Now, experience the magic live on stage once more.

Don Quixote introduces us to Cervantes’ famous knight himself, lovers Kitri and Basilio, and a host of supporting characters. As the Don sets out on a quest to track down his true love, with his loyal friend and servant Sancho Panza at his side, he finds himself embroiled in an unlikely adventure of love and dreams.

Carlos Acosta said: It is a real joy to be reviving Don Quixote for UK audiences in 2026, bringing the heat of the Spanish sunshine to kick-start spring time. This production features everything from daring dance and cape-twirling matadors to beautiful costumes and stunning scenery.

“As always, Birmingham Royal Ballet remains committed to bringing the very best of ballet to venues across the UK – ensuring audiences across the country have access to leading and entertaining dance from some of the world’s finest artists, including our guest dancers from National Ballet of Canada, a very special treat for our Birmingham audiences.”
